    Sonic Generations Empty Sonic Generations

Post by Mykle Fri May 06, 2011 3:59 am

Since this game brings back classic Sonic, and brings back a lot of classic elements from the original games, I think it would actually be a pretty good game to discuss here.

I say it's looking fantastic so far! Both modern and classic Sonic's gameplay look very fun! I'm also really enjoying both Green Hill Zone remixes

What are your thoughts? I personally can't wait for it!

Well I would certainly play the side-scrolling portions.

I'm looking really forward to this game! I didn't really enjoy Sonic 4 just because the physics (like Sonic's start-up time when you start to run) made the game feel off to me. It just didn't feel fluid while I was playing, so I hope the side scrolling in this one returns to the feel of the early 2D games.

I was fairly disappointed with Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors, and I promised myself I'd stop falling for Sega's tricks. This though, looks pretty good. I really like how the side scrolling bits are looking.

It looks good ... I'm not much of a Sonic Nazi, though, so I'm not too down on the 3D iterations unless they're just terrible (STH 2006). This looks fun ... but I still haven't played Colors ... so little chance I'll be getting it anytime soon. But a demo is welcome.

Looks awesome I'm pretty impartial to the whole 2D or 3D debate with sonic so I'll probably like the game. The visuals look stunning too, I can't wait for this game. SEGA!

I don't understand why the Classic gameplay isn't the core and then some levels get played like "Modern" Sonic. Like the bonus stage in Sonic 2.

Maybe I'm just not enough of a Sonic freak, but the levels look much prettier in Classic view.

Apparently the main menu will be playable and the two sonics will be the only playable characters. Darn...

So the demo is out now (for the first classic level) but only has 12 days left before it goes away so I recommend all you guys check it out while you can.

I'm loving the game so far. My only issue is that Sonic sort of falls like a dead weight after you jump, which feels strange but may be changed or tweaked by the release. Also, to spin dash you now hold square instead of tapping it, but I don't have a problem with that. The physics are much closer to the classic games than they were in Sonic 4 and that's exactly what I wanted to happen with this game.

The game is gorgeous and it felt amazing to play through a new Green Hill Zone with level design reminiscent of the Genesis titles. I believe there's going to be a second demo where you get to try a modern level after this demo expires. I don't even need to try the next demo to know I'm buying this game.
