Nes import

hey guys,

i´m going to buy some american nes games because they are way cheaper as european 3$ -> 20€ xD
so which nes version should i buy to play the imports ?

or modding

I'd say try and get your hands on the top-loader NES2. It looks really neat, but it lacks composite output, though that should be moddable.

That's what I use and I like it a lot, as it's very reliable, but they can be a little pricey, especially when compared to a clone system.

If you can get a nes for a fair price, just do the modding. It's really easy to do. I have a spanish version of the nes, wich I modded, and it plays eu and us games.

disabling the lockout chip requires clipping a single pin, from what I remember. So, it is really easy to do. The only issue you run into after that is pin number configurations, like if you want to play a famicom cart on a NA NES, you need an adapter (and if it's the front loader you need to put it in another cart case) Of course, you might just get lucky and snag one of the black box games that has one already in it.
