Re: Introduction Thread
Hoi~
Stumbled in here through the FB post like some others. Love TC, even if I fear for Keith's life every other ep. But that's what makes it great, right?
Started young with video games, 5 years old with Metal Gear on the NES (holy frustration city there), and have had pretty much all systems and handhelds since then. And even my mom is very much into Nintendo. I don't like to play favorites with my systems, I think they all have strengths and weaknesses that balance them out. I'm also something of a "completionist;" I strive to get 100% in my games including achievements/trophies.
As for the boring stuff...I'm an IT student learning how to ethically hack and teach grandmas how to connect to the interwebs among other things. Used to study Social Work. I love to draw and am trying to hone my culinary skills.
Nice to meet y'all~

Nice to meet ya Kupomog!
I admire your dedication to achievements and trophies. I usually try to get as many as I can, but only if I'm having fun. I really enjoy achievements that get you to try things you may not normally try in a game.

Re: Introduction Thread
Thanks
Yeah I tend to pick and choose what I care about earning. In truth, I really don't work hard for multiplayer achievements, especially if they involve leaderboard rankings which is usually just unfair due to people boosting.
But for anything else, I really like to seek out and conquer. I won't play easy games just for the achievements, though. That's one thing I don't care for. I just suffered through Challenge of the Gods last night for the first God of War for a trophy. Probably my last biggest achievement was getting all the crowns in Perfect Dark on XBLA.
If anything, they are nice little bonus goals to obtain

Re: Introduction Thread
Hey everyone
sPiN here, 24 years old, university student from Portugal studying Languages, Literatures and Cultures. I caught wind of the new forums from Keith's tweet.
I'm a Talking Classics fan, and a proud owner of a Master System II, a Mega Drive I with Sega-CD attachment, and on the less retro-side a PSP, a PSX, a PS2 and a PS3
I'm "one of those" completionists, and like Kupomog I strive to achieve 100% on the games I play
Happy to meet you guys

Re: Introduction Thread
Welcome! The board just getting on its feet but I'm sure by the time we're advertised a bit by the good Master Apicary in his documentary, more might swing by. So far, it's a nice little community. At least I think so.

Re: Introduction Thread
Hey guys,
I'm a college student living in the beautiful Ozarks. Been playing games since I was old enough to hold a controller and love both the classics and the moderns. I'm proud to be joining the ranks of what looks to be the beginnings of a nice little community.
Oh, and of course I'm a huge fan of the handsome and talented Keith.

Re: Introduction Thread
Well, it may be pretty hard to tell, but I am in fact, a fan of Sega. I prefer Mad Max movies over Rambo and the only classic gaming system I have at the moment is a dreamcast, but I am hoping to get a sega saturn soon. Someone recommended the talking classics videos a few months ago and I've been a fan ever since. That's all for now

Re: Introduction Thread
Ey dudes. I'm from Denmark. I discovered kieth/nathan/whatever a few days ago and I like his stuff. I play retro consoles, but I don't have a huge collection of stuff. I got the necessary stuff like the Mega Drive, Nes, N64 and Game Boy. My next purchase might be a Snes, but it's kinda hard to get retro games and consoles around these parts and they're usually overpriced. I usually buy games from my hairdreser.

Re: Introduction Thread
Kieth ain't got nothing on me
Yeah I should get a Snes, but I won't be using too much time on video games during the summer. I'm probably getting one in a few months. Which games should I check out besides the obviously ones?

Take a skim through the favorite games thread, I'm sure you'll see a good chunk of SNES games that you should play.

Re: Introduction Thread
Hm, I feel like I'm a bit late. Seems like most people have posted about a year ago.
But.
Hi, I'm Evee! I think it's awesome that this forum is completely dedicated to old school games/consoles. My favorite consoles are N64, Sega Genesis, and NES...and gamegear is pretty coo. When I was younger I was always kinda embarrassed about playing vidya games, even though I friggen loved them. I played Genesis and N64 up until 2005...then I moved and they got sold. Sad sad day.
Some of my favorite games, in no particular order, are:
Zelda OoT
Golden Eye
Mario 64
Donkey Kong 64
Mario Kart
Diddy Kong Racing
River City Ransom
Streets of Rage
Golden Axe
Sonic 1, 2, 3
Sonic and Knuckles (was this the one where you could hook it up to sonic 3?)
Wolfenstein <--the one that was on floppy disc for the PC (scared the crap outta me)
God of Thunder <--also on floppy for PC
But.
