I really don't know anything about arcade boards, adapters, etc. so I can't help you there, but congrats on getting the MVS cab!

The pin layout is different between a MVS board and a Jamma board. Since you're using an MVS (Multi-video system) ... you'll need an adapter for each slot you want to put a Jamma board in, as far as I know.

The adapter connects to the JAMMA harness, not a physical cartridge slot. You'll need only one adapter.

Single slot motherboards do not use stereo sound (the main difference in MVS/JAMMA wiring) However, if your cabinet is a dedicated MVS machine it likely is going to be wired for MVS. Basically, a single slot motherboard will work fine in a JAMMA cabinet, but a JAMMA board needs an adapter to work properly in an MVS cab. Without that adapter you'll likely blow out the audio amp in your cabinet. Either way, if you use that adapter in you'll be set.
